You’ve decided to bring a Labrador puppy into your life – good for you!  Your next step is to get a few tips for training a Labrador puppy so you do not run into problems later.

A few things you need to keep in mind, especially about this type of dog are:

1. Labradors love people!  It’s no good getting a Lab then spending all day at work while your new dog pines for you at home.  If you are going to have a Labrador in your circle of relatives, then you have to be prepared to spend lots of time with her.

2.  Labradors are an active breed, originally bred to retrieve prey from the shoot.  If they don’t spend enough time exercising, then you are highly likely to run into issues, both health wise (getting overweight, which may promote the frequently seen problem of hip dysplasia) and in terms of behavior as a result of separation anxiety.

If your Labrador is left without physical exercise, she will get overweight and have all of the health problems associated with it.  If she is not mentally stimulated, she is going to have behavioral issues and be difficult to control.

So here are my tips for successfully training a Labrador puppy:-

1.  Spend as much time as possible with your Labrador and use positive strengthening (treats and praise) during training sessions.

2.  Exercise your dog at least twice a day, and incorporate training into the exercise times

3.  If there are occasions when you won’t be home for extended periods, make sure you have somebody available who can take her for a run to feed her desire for both companionship and exercise.

Labradors are a very devoted breed.  If you give your dog the awareness she correctly merits, then the rewards will be a lot of folds.  If you do not have the time wanted to raise and nurture a Lab, then please consider carefully before making the choice to bring one into your family.  If you have the time spare, then follow these very easy tips for training a Labrador pup and you will have a comradeship with your dog that lasts for several years.

Dogs can make excellent pets.  Typically they get together with folks well, and they can also learn to accept and coexist with other pets but this isn’t always the case.  There are lots of mistakes that people make that can end up in aggressive behavior in dogs.

Below I have listed some of the simplest and most typical mistakes folks make when dealing with an aggressive dog.

1. Discipline vs. Punishment: Never treat aggressive behavior with aggressive behavior.  Let’s assume Jr.  And Rover is playing outside.  You detect that Jr. is putting some dust into Rover’s food bowl, and you also notice that Rover is growling and showing his teeth.

Your first reaction is to move Jr. to a safer location and then smack Rover on the rump while exclaiming “bad dog”.  The result of this mistake are now you’ve got a dog that is confused about his behavior.  Also, your dog may be uncomfortable around you or even afraid of you, which may cause other problems.

2. Keeping people and dogs away from your dog:  Socialization is vital for dogs.  They’ve a type of power structure or pecking order which establishes their angle towards other dogs and folks.  If they’re never around people or dogs, they can be mystified about where they slot in, and act afraid or aggressive in social eventualities.

Normally dogs mature sexually somewhere between the ages of 6 to 14 months.  During this period of time proper socialization is terribly important.  It is at this time when your dog will begin to develop his understanding of social order.

3.  Ignoring the signs or symptoms of aggressive behavior.  Regularly people, particularly new dog owners, find it incredibly lovable when a new puppy lets out his first bark, or nips a little during play.  If these behaviors continue into adulthood they can become a genuine problem.  These issues must be addressed as fast as they’re spotted.

Carefully watch your dog when he is interacting with people or dogs to discover how he’d react.  If he is jumping up or mounting folks he isn’t trying to be friendly.  He is actually attempting to build his dominance over the newbie’s to his territory.

If you’ve ever owned a Yorkie, you know they can be tricky to potty-train.  However, crate training can make the process way easier for lots of reasons.  In this article, I can discuss crate training your Yorkie.

Yorkies are intellectual dogs.  Actually studies have shown that they can learn commands faster than a large number of other breeds.  However they can still be mulish when it comes to potty-training.  Employing a crate will keep them confined so they can stay out of trouble.

Dog crates come in numerous different sizes, but you need to make sure you find one that is the correct size for your Yorkie.  You do not want one that is so tiny that they cannot move in, and you don’t want one that is too large, or your Yorkie will urine in it.  You want to find one that is just about enough room for them to walk around in.

You’ll need to put a comfortable blanket or doggie bed in their crate to keep them comfortable. Don’t put too much in there initially in the event your Yorkie has an accident in it.

Your Yorkie should stay in their crate in the nighttime and when no one is at home. This keeps them from wandering the house unreservedly and prevents them from having accidents in the house.  Just don’t forget to take them outside to go potty first thing in the morning or when you get home.

If your Yorkie has an accident inside the house, don’t punish them by making them go their crate.  You do not need them to suspect that their crate is a form of punishment.  It should be a safe, comfortable area for your Yorkie.  Most little dogs will essentially like being in their crates because they feel safe and comfortable in it.

Crate training works miracles if done correctly, and even after your Yorkie is trained, they will still prefer to sleep in it.

You go to the pet store and you fall madly in love with that large wrinkly face and the next thing you know, you’re the proud owner of a new Pug puppy dog.  Something you need to know, especially in those early days, is that the moment you bring that puppy home, you are training them in how to act in the future.  With pug training, it is crucial to be trained from the start of your days as a Pug owner.

When you look at how much a kid learns in the initial few years of their life, it far outweighs the quantity of things they learn in the second years.  A pug young dog is the same way, the first few months of their life are like the first few years of a child’s life and anything they learn now is going to be inserted in their mind as something that they are permitted to do.

If your Pug puppy jumps up on the coach, will you discipline him and tell him to get down or are you going to pet his lovable little head and let him know how charming he is.  Now think about what takes place when he is a full grown dog and he does that, you are probably going to be upset and scream at him.  Well don’t scream at the dog, go find a mirror and scream at yourself because you’re the one that promoted that behavior when he was a young dog.

We often find humor in the things that both youngsters and dogs do when they are puppies and babies and then we are getting upset when they do the same stuff 1 or 2 years later.  It isn’t their fault, you permitted this behavior and now you’re going to be forced to fix it.  Knowing when to correct behavior is a big part of pug training

When your Pug puppy grabs your shoes and starts gnawing on them, ask one little question , am I going to find that funny in seven years when he is still doing it?  If you’re like most people, the answer to that question is going to be a sound NO so address it now and you will not have to stress about it in the future as the dog will know that it is not allowable.

It’s a tiny tough to coach your Pug pup from day one, but you have to resist the booby trap of falling for that captivating face.  They are animals and they need to be trained.  The will only do what you permit them to do or get away with so be sure you get the correct behavior instilled from day one and you will have a great pet!

We all love our dogs.  They are a part of our family and we want them to be safe and satisfied.  However if you have an aggressive dog then you know that things are not well with your four leg relation.  An aggressive dog is perilous to you, other dogs, and folks and this can be awfully scary.  You may have tried different techniques to curb this aggression only to find yourself keeping your dog away from other people, other dogs, and eventualities where he may be assertive.  While this could prevent an attack, it does make for a sad dog and an unhappy dog owner.  To mend this problem, it needs a real complete approach to cure your dog of aggression.

Some dogs are aggressive against folks; some are aggressive against other dogs.  If your dog is assertive by barking, snapping, and behaving in a menacing demeanor to mates, folks walking by the house or that you pass by on a walk than you know that something has to change.

Your dog’s health is the very first thing to investigate when exhibiting signs of aggression.  A visit to the vet will cross out a possible health problem.  A sick dog or a dog that’s experiencing discomfort is much more likely to show indications of aggression to protect it from harm.

After controlling out potential health problems, it’s time to start to train your dog.  It is important that you’re the dominant one in your relationship with the dog and that your dog looks to you for choices.  This takes much practice.  Many use treats or some type of other reward to teach the dog to focus on you and that behaving in a way that you expect is what brings positive beefing up.

A dog exhibiting dominance is a standard source of aggression towards other dogs.  Again, a good way to correct that difficulty is to coach your dog to target you for direction.  This should be done in a secure environment for the dog where she will feel comfortable.  In this training, you focus your dog to concentrate on you.  The dog follows your direction and is rewarded when your dog behaves properly.  When your dog concentrates on you, give it a reward.  Soon, you can try walking past another dog and use this method.  If your dog starts to show aggression, use your focus command and with enough training, your dog will focus on you, and not the other dog.

Shih Tzu training is as important and as possible as training other sort of dogs.  Shih Tzu’s also known as Lion dogs are thought of as one of the oldest breeds of dog.

Below are made public Shih Tzu training tips to guide dog owners:

In housebreaking, decide what method to use.  Are you going to paper educating him as you are too occupied to take him outside every time he must use the bathroom?  Pick which one works best for you and your dog.

Then, train yourself.  To paraphrase, you need to be informed enough and know how to train your dog the method you have chosen.

When he incidentally use the lounge as his bathroom, do not try to strike him or rub his nose on his very own mess.  Physical punishment will not correct him; instead will just make things tougher.

When it comes to obedience training, train your dog the basic come, sit and stay commands.  These basic commands are his fundamental components to other more complicated obedience training and will help you develop a nice relationship with your dog.

Use positive reinforcement.  Positive beefing up increases the possibility for a dog to exhibit the same behavior again;  It is composed of loving praise, pats and treats.  Giving of treats is an effective way in dog obedience training.  But just make sure to show and give the treat only when the command is performed.  Showing of treats before giving the command is just like bribing your dog to do it.  Your target is to train him to follow commands as he loves and respects you as his leader.

Whether or not you are on housebreaking or obedience training, give him correct diet.  Consult your vet on the types and amount of food you want to give your pet.  It will also help if you are conscious of what foods are going to be avoided to reduce the chance of allergy and other food-related problems.

These few tips appear to be incredibly simple but will certainly bring the best out of your Shih Tzu dog.  And what exactly you will get?  A Shih Tzu dog with human acceptable behavior and is amusing to be around.

The Pug is a toy dog breed with a wrinkly face and a medium or small body.  It is frequently described as  ‘much in tiny’, because of all that it conceals in his little size.  The Pug has a cruel expression but is a very playful, charming and clever dog.  Though slightly stubborn about particular things, they achieve success in dog obedience talents.  They’re attuned to human voice, so you do not actually have to hurt them.  They like human attention and feel anxious when ignored.  You would really like to have one of those conscientious dogs, always at your feet or in your lap or following you wherever you go.

When your puppy first comes home, you should start by getting him used to all the family members.  Though he’s customarily full of confidence, it could take him a little while to feel totally at ease in his new surroundings.

Begin the Pug training process systematically; teach one word with one action at a time; ensure you use the same word every time; and the association becomes powerful in his head.  After you have taught him the 5 commands of sit, stay, down, come and heal properly, move on to the next step, that is, to get him on the leash.  Begin with merely an easy buckle collar on him, and continuously introduce the leash.  Ensure it is light in weight and soft on the skin.

Remember, Pug training begins with understanding one word at a time.  Teach him to sit, stay, and come one at a time.  If you give 2 3 commands in one go, he’s going to be confused.  As you pronounce the word match it with an analogous gesture to drive the message home.  For instance, when you want him to sit, say the word and put gentle strain on his back to show him what you need him to do.  You’ll need to train your puppy to stay in a crate when required.  When you start crate training, put your pup into his crate and remain inside his sight.  Give him a toy or treat to grab his mind and to help him associate the crate with good things.

It’ll take your Pug a couple of days to feel comfortable in his new environment.  Be alert and affectionate, careful not to overwhelm him with too much too soon.  Have a good time with your dog by engaging him in games with his toys.  And you will be so proud of your clever companion!

In dog training terms I like to call this “Stranger Aggression”.  If your dog gets scared by strangers; jumpy and always on alert, pacing and frightened by the smallest movements or if he is extraordinarily still with laser like concentrate on his target (the mailman, a visitor approaching).  Then your dog is showing danger signals that he could get aggressive toward strangers.

Reasons why

The one reason dogs show “stranger aggression” is that they have not been properly socialized around strangers.  They have not spent enough time around strangers to get used to them.  Your dog looks to you for all his worldly experiences.  It is up to you to expose him to new people, places and things in a positive manner with positive experiences so that he’ll realize for himself that not all new places and faces are something to be terrified of.

What do you do now?

Socialization: A method of getting your dog accustom to the world around him and all of the peculiar folks, animals and things in it.  I cannot stress enough the seriousness of socialization is to your dogs upbringing.  Socialization should start as soon as your puppy has his shots and continue throw away his life.

What about an older dog.

It is never too late to socialize your dog.  Although it might take a bit longer and you must take certain cares so that you, your dog or the stranger can avoid a bad experience or worse an injury.

Take it slow and never force a very concerned dog into an unusual situation.  Try to keep any training in short lessons or exposures of less than 15 minutes.  Reveal your dog to new people and places frequently.  You may expect your dog to get over his fears if you only work on his socialization once a week.  Try 2 – 3 times a week and go from there with longer sessions.

If you have just gotten a new Shih Tzu, you may be ready to start training it to behave as you would like it to.  House training your Shih Tzu includes teaching him to sit, come and heel on command.

Enjoying it thoroughly is the first thing you must do.  Second, it’s important that you predict the same behavior at all points and thirdly you have got to express the same communication repeatedly until your dog knows what you are expecting him to do.

These are some tips to help you as you get started, but when you are ready for more advanced training with your Shih Tzu, you should seek help from a talented coach in your neighborhood.

Shih Tzu Tip Number 1

The first Shih Tzu training tip is for you to have fun with your training attempts.  Even though there are several different methodologies you may use when training your dog, try and have a light hearted perspective about everything you try.  The experience must be delightful for you as well as your dog or he will not reply certainly.

We’ve found that spending special time with your dog helps you to bond with and start to know him / her better, which should increase the likelihood of your dog behaving and responding more positively towards what you are asking him / her to do.

Shih Tzu Tip Number 2

You want to stay consistent with your training efforts.  What follows is Shih Tzu training tip number two.  It is important to be consistent, which can often be defined as repeating a behavior again and again until your dog learns it.  You cannot afford to educate your dog 2 things at a time, if you do puzzlement will set in.

Repetition is the key to impressing in your dog the behaviors you are trying to inspire.  So be consistent with training and positive re-strengthening until you see the specified result.

Shih Tzu Tip Number 3

The third Shih Tzu training tip is to make certain your dog knows what you need it to do.

Your dog cannot act according to your commands when he feels puzzled about what you express.  You will be irritated by this and your dog will be too; it will not know the way to please you which it really wants to do.  It is important to demonstrate the behavior you are expecting from your dog.
