You’ve decided to bring a Labrador puppy into your life – good for you!  Your next step is to get a few tips for training a Labrador puppy so you do not run into problems later.

A few things you need to keep in mind, especially about this type of dog are:

1. Labradors love people!  It’s no good getting a Lab then spending all day at work while your new dog pines for you at home.  If you are going to have a Labrador in your circle of relatives, then you have to be prepared to spend lots of time with her.

2.  Labradors are an active breed, originally bred to retrieve prey from the shoot.  If they don’t spend enough time exercising, then you are highly likely to run into issues, both health wise (getting overweight, which may promote the frequently seen problem of hip dysplasia) and in terms of behavior as a result of separation anxiety.

If your Labrador is left without physical exercise, she will get overweight and have all of the health problems associated with it.  If she is not mentally stimulated, she is going to have behavioral issues and be difficult to control.

So here are my tips for successfully training a Labrador puppy:-

1.  Spend as much time as possible with your Labrador and use positive strengthening (treats and praise) during training sessions.

2.  Exercise your dog at least twice a day, and incorporate training into the exercise times

3.  If there are occasions when you won’t be home for extended periods, make sure you have somebody available who can take her for a run to feed her desire for both companionship and exercise.

Labradors are a very devoted breed.  If you give your dog the awareness she correctly merits, then the rewards will be a lot of folds.  If you do not have the time wanted to raise and nurture a Lab, then please consider carefully before making the choice to bring one into your family.  If you have the time spare, then follow these very easy tips for training a Labrador pup and you will have a comradeship with your dog that lasts for several years.

Living in a small space doesn’t mean you have to give up prized collections. Displaying collections is an excellent way to decorate your home. For me it is all about Collecting Frogs – a Fun Hobby for All Ages and the trick is figuring out how to organize your collections so you can exhibit them creatively, which I do in a number of ways and what is listed below will help describe what can be done. Your home does not have to look like it is cluttered just because you have a lot of collectibles.
Step 1 is easy. Find a way to separate all of your stuff into categories. Make a thorough search of everything. Collect them all and lay them out in an open space. It is useful to visualize your collection. It is also helpful to make a list of what you have. You will find many uses for a record of your collection. If you know what you have, you will not collect it again. A record will also be useful in helping you edit your collection. It will help you remember what is in your collection so you can show it off. By keeping a diary of your collectibles you can enjoy them in this way and many other ways. There are some thought that you must consider w=once you can visualize your collection. Does everything really belong in your collection?` What do I want to look at everyday? Is there something that I consider my best collectible? It is as much fun to look at something as it is to tell the interesting story that goes with it. A collection needs to be fun and something that is important for you. If you don’t enjoy showing off your stuff, it might not be worth the effort. The second thing is just as easy. Evaluate your living space and think about where you want to display collections. That could be in the living room, kitchen or the bathroom. Don’t forget about using vertical space effectively. For instance, you might decide to group your artwork and photographs on a living room wall, or you might have gone to www.myfrogcollection.com and added items that you can display in a shadow box or cabinet. The only limit to showing off your stuff is your imagination. It is possible to combine some collectibles to show off in a display together when they fit.
The third thing to consider is how to show off your stuff. There are plenty of websites that show various display ideas for people who want to find them. So if you’re totally stuck and can’t figure out how to display your collections, use the internet, and you’ll find creative ways to display Pez dispensers, jewelry, action figures, collectible frogs wine memorabilia, and more. The size of your domicile is not what should keep you from collecting something you enjoy. Displaying collections is an excellent way to decorate your home. When a person takes the time to do it right, the collectibles will add a great touch to the design of their home.
For those who refuse to let go of anything that they have, they can try using things that they already have to display their stuff. For instance, the a glass curio always enhances a room and is a great way to display some of your favorite objects. You can also put stuff on the tables that are spread around your home. Tables can be used for lots of different items that are smaller in size. Showing off items in this way is neat. The key is to be creative with your displays. Some people have to be reminded when their collections get too big. It is okay to store parts of your collections away for some of the time. Doing this will give you more excuses to check out what is in your collection and to play with it as you display it.

I Love To Collect Frogs

Personally I love collecting. It is a great hobby and is different and unique just for me. There are many different facets to the art of building and keeping a collection. Maybe part of loving it is because I love to shop. As much as I like shopping for something, another might find their joy in keeping track of what they already have. Another group of hobbyist can find pleasure in how they show off their collected items in their home. Each item you find will have a unique story attached to it or a particular interest unique to you. The way that one person deals with this hobby is different from the next person who indulges in it.

It is possible to build a collection that does not involve a lot of money or a person can spend a small fortune if they so desire. A lot of people livelihoods come are tied to the idea of building collections. One of the basic collections that we see everyday is in our public library system. Not only is it not just something that a person does on the side, it is what they have turned their career into. No matter what people collect it is something that interests them. A good collection spurs a person to want to know more about whatever it is they have found. It is much easier to do something you like and this is the best excuse a collector should use when asked why they do it. I chose the world of amphibians for my collection. Collecting Frogs – a Fun Hobby for All Ages was something that I read that got me started on my journey and it has continued to be part of my life for many years and is now enjoyed by my whole family.

How did I get started? The one who got me started was my mother. When I was young we lived in a house that was surrounded by trees. There were not many other houses surrounding us. There was lots of nature surrounding us. My mother got the first piece in my collection. Her reason. You live in the woods, any house in the woods deserves a frog. I still have that frog. My collection continued to expand as I found more things that I thought were appropriate. Every time I added something new to my collection I added another tale of how it became part of my collection. Each time I pick up one of my frogs it will stimulate a pleasant thought about its purchase or find or the person who gave it to me and that is the most fun about collectible frogs. I began adding frogs to the home to make it look nicer. I have tried to maintain that integrity and theme for the most part. It is important for me to not have people think I am crazy because there are frogs just about anywhere they look in my home.

Frog collections are perfect decorations for both your home and your yard, and I can truly say I have an army of frogs and that I am proud to have www.myfrogcollection.com bookmarked as one of my favorite sites to visit on the internet. Once in awhile I will find a great article about real frogs and enjoy reading up on them. There is more to my frog collection than just what people see around my house. Not only do I share the pieces I have on display, I also share the knowledge that I have garnered. I am proud to be a great source of knowledge for my friends. Not everyone understands my fascination with frogs and they may wonder what I see in them, but I’m okay with that. My collection of amphibians will always be there for me.

Dogs can make excellent pets.  Typically they get together with folks well, and they can also learn to accept and coexist with other pets but this isn’t always the case.  There are lots of mistakes that people make that can end up in aggressive behavior in dogs.

Below I have listed some of the simplest and most typical mistakes folks make when dealing with an aggressive dog.

1. Discipline vs. Punishment: Never treat aggressive behavior with aggressive behavior.  Let’s assume Jr.  And Rover is playing outside.  You detect that Jr. is putting some dust into Rover’s food bowl, and you also notice that Rover is growling and showing his teeth.

Your first reaction is to move Jr. to a safer location and then smack Rover on the rump while exclaiming “bad dog”.  The result of this mistake are now you’ve got a dog that is confused about his behavior.  Also, your dog may be uncomfortable around you or even afraid of you, which may cause other problems.

2. Keeping people and dogs away from your dog:  Socialization is vital for dogs.  They’ve a type of power structure or pecking order which establishes their angle towards other dogs and folks.  If they’re never around people or dogs, they can be mystified about where they slot in, and act afraid or aggressive in social eventualities.

Normally dogs mature sexually somewhere between the ages of 6 to 14 months.  During this period of time proper socialization is terribly important.  It is at this time when your dog will begin to develop his understanding of social order.

3.  Ignoring the signs or symptoms of aggressive behavior.  Regularly people, particularly new dog owners, find it incredibly lovable when a new puppy lets out his first bark, or nips a little during play.  If these behaviors continue into adulthood they can become a genuine problem.  These issues must be addressed as fast as they’re spotted.

Carefully watch your dog when he is interacting with people or dogs to discover how he’d react.  If he is jumping up or mounting folks he isn’t trying to be friendly.  He is actually attempting to build his dominance over the newbie’s to his territory.

If you’ve ever owned a Yorkie, you know they can be tricky to potty-train.  However, crate training can make the process way easier for lots of reasons.  In this article, I can discuss crate training your Yorkie.

Yorkies are intellectual dogs.  Actually studies have shown that they can learn commands faster than a large number of other breeds.  However they can still be mulish when it comes to potty-training.  Employing a crate will keep them confined so they can stay out of trouble.

Dog crates come in numerous different sizes, but you need to make sure you find one that is the correct size for your Yorkie.  You do not want one that is so tiny that they cannot move in, and you don’t want one that is too large, or your Yorkie will urine in it.  You want to find one that is just about enough room for them to walk around in.

You’ll need to put a comfortable blanket or doggie bed in their crate to keep them comfortable. Don’t put too much in there initially in the event your Yorkie has an accident in it.

Your Yorkie should stay in their crate in the nighttime and when no one is at home. This keeps them from wandering the house unreservedly and prevents them from having accidents in the house.  Just don’t forget to take them outside to go potty first thing in the morning or when you get home.

If your Yorkie has an accident inside the house, don’t punish them by making them go their crate.  You do not need them to suspect that their crate is a form of punishment.  It should be a safe, comfortable area for your Yorkie.  Most little dogs will essentially like being in their crates because they feel safe and comfortable in it.

Crate training works miracles if done correctly, and even after your Yorkie is trained, they will still prefer to sleep in it.

A dog with disabilities in mobility is truly a pitiful sight.  That is why if your canine pet is in this condition, you could not help but look for ways to help him achieve his mobility again. Since men could not deprive his trusted friend the products of technological advancements that he needs, disabled dogs could be lucky to have dog wheelchairs. Besides, there are also available carts for dogs that allow them to be in their natural position despite of the injuries he incurred. These are now available and you can inquire about it in veterinary clinics. With these, your dog no longer suffers from the effects of his injuries and disabilities.

However, when you have these contraptions, the next concern you would have would be the clean-up and proper maintenance of the device. These are after all not regular devices and not a lot of people actually know how to keep these clean and safe for their beloved dogs. Luckily for them, these contraptions are not that hard to maintain. Creators of these devices know that with their mobility regained, the dogs would not have second thoughts of dragging this anywhere he goes. Thus, you have to deal with the grime, sweat, and  other fluids that may come out from your dog. You would be compelled to clean these equipments as regularly as it can be.

Dog wheelchairs and carts for dogs are nevertheless made of no-rust aluminum frames.  The hardware supporting these equipment is made of steel. Thus, you should not have any trouble in cleaning these.  You only need to have water cotton cloth as rag and some detergent. After wiping the wheelchair or cart with water and soap, you can dry it and then use another cleaning agent that would make your frame shiny and smooth. Its neoprene front can be removed and washed separately with the hands.   You must also brush it for you to remove the dog hairs and dust on it. The tires can also be washed with water and soap.  If necessary, you may also brush it to wipe off all the mud and stubborn dirt.  During cleaning, you may have to remove the rear and front harnesses so that these can be washed also.

You go to the pet store and you fall madly in love with that large wrinkly face and the next thing you know, you’re the proud owner of a new Pug puppy dog.  Something you need to know, especially in those early days, is that the moment you bring that puppy home, you are training them in how to act in the future.  With pug training, it is crucial to be trained from the start of your days as a Pug owner.

When you look at how much a kid learns in the initial few years of their life, it far outweighs the quantity of things they learn in the second years.  A pug young dog is the same way, the first few months of their life are like the first few years of a child’s life and anything they learn now is going to be inserted in their mind as something that they are permitted to do.

If your Pug puppy jumps up on the coach, will you discipline him and tell him to get down or are you going to pet his lovable little head and let him know how charming he is.  Now think about what takes place when he is a full grown dog and he does that, you are probably going to be upset and scream at him.  Well don’t scream at the dog, go find a mirror and scream at yourself because you’re the one that promoted that behavior when he was a young dog.

We often find humor in the things that both youngsters and dogs do when they are puppies and babies and then we are getting upset when they do the same stuff 1 or 2 years later.  It isn’t their fault, you permitted this behavior and now you’re going to be forced to fix it.  Knowing when to correct behavior is a big part of pug training

When your Pug puppy grabs your shoes and starts gnawing on them, ask one little question , am I going to find that funny in seven years when he is still doing it?  If you’re like most people, the answer to that question is going to be a sound NO so address it now and you will not have to stress about it in the future as the dog will know that it is not allowable.

It’s a tiny tough to coach your Pug pup from day one, but you have to resist the booby trap of falling for that captivating face.  They are animals and they need to be trained.  The will only do what you permit them to do or get away with so be sure you get the correct behavior instilled from day one and you will have a great pet!

Guinea pigs make wonderful pets, and they make really pleasant companions for one another! My girl and I have two rabbits and three guinea pigs, and it’s fascinating to see their unique personalities interact.

Now before you think of me as some fuzzy-minded animal-lover – hear me out. I was essentially not very much for pets at first, believing those pests and, at best, a drain on the household budget. And indeed, my perspectives have not changed where that is concerned . They sure eat a lot and cost a pretty penny!

But that viewpoint is now being balanced out by one which has come to understand all the positive aspects to pet possession, too. And it is like explaining one of those jokes you really just needed to be there for to get.

So for me to now say that it’s pleasant watching them eat out of your hand may seem not awfully exciting stories. Big deal, you’ll probably shrug, much as I did at first. But there are such funny moments, incredible occurrences which I’ve seen with my very own two eyes that I wouldn’t have assumed otherwise, that I’ll truly say that having these rabbits and guinea pigs has really improved my life.

I have in mind how our little black dwarf rabbit, Blackie Ballwinger, likes to groom everybody. He is also likes licking kissing? Someone! And he is always getting chased around, either by the much larger Bullet Munchies, a sort of an Angora rabbit mix, bullying him around, or Sicky or Wilbur, two guinea pigs, who try to have sex with him!

Yes, it’s unusual, but absolutely true ; two of our guinea pigs are constantly trying to chum with a rabbit and they are all males! This is the type of eye-opening and belly-splitting experience that you can only get when you have pets.

Dogs make a home. They can also make a mess in a home. Chew toys, food spills, dirty paws, fights with furniture, and accidents can turn your lovely abode into a dump overnight. Here are some tips to help maintain a well-groomed home to match your well-groomed dog.

Make some Areas Off Limits

Dogs need constant attention. Few pet owners are able to be on-site every minute of every day. Consider installing a gate, available at pet stores and online retailers, to restrict your pet’s movements around the house. Easy to install, a gate can prevent accidents and messes in your home.

Another option is a cage or crate if your home is not suitable for a gate. Make sure the cage is big enough for the dog to move around in, and make it comfortable for them. Check with your veterinarian for suggestions on the best options to restrict your dog within your home. They can offer alternative solutions that may work for you.

Smells and Stains May Chase Friends Away

Your friends and family are not used to your pet’s scent – but you will be. Do the smell test so you don’t have to wonder why everyone’s wrinkling their noses as they walk in the door.

The smell test is best performed by a brutally honest friend or neighbor – the kind who won’t mince words. Invite them in and ask them to breathe in. It’s time to do something about doggy odors if they can smell ’scent of dog’ anywhere in your home.

The first step is to open the windows to allow fresh air into your home. If the smell test seemed to pinpoint a particular location, your pet may have had a little accident there. If the area is still damp, blot it with absorbent paper straight away. The best cleaner is one designed specifically for pet odors, but a disinfectant spray will work in a pinch. Baking soda sprinkled on the spot absorbs both the moisture and the odors and can be vacuumed up once dry. Everyday air fresheners will only cover up the smell for a short while. {If an accident is the source of the odor, you will need to blot the area if it is still damp. Although your best bet is a cleaner specially made for dog odors, baking soda sprinkled on the area will absorb moisture and odors quite effectively, and can be vacuumed up once dry. A disinfectant spray will help, but normal air fresheners will only hide the smell for a short while.}

Don’t Forget, It’s Your Home

Ultimately the best way to keep your house under control is to remember that you are the boss. You have to set the rules and control your pet. If the dog is out of control, and the gate and cage options don’t work, consider obedience training. Speak with your vet for suggestions.

We all love our dogs.  They are a part of our family and we want them to be safe and satisfied.  However if you have an aggressive dog then you know that things are not well with your four leg relation.  An aggressive dog is perilous to you, other dogs, and folks and this can be awfully scary.  You may have tried different techniques to curb this aggression only to find yourself keeping your dog away from other people, other dogs, and eventualities where he may be assertive.  While this could prevent an attack, it does make for a sad dog and an unhappy dog owner.  To mend this problem, it needs a real complete approach to cure your dog of aggression.

Some dogs are aggressive against folks; some are aggressive against other dogs.  If your dog is assertive by barking, snapping, and behaving in a menacing demeanor to mates, folks walking by the house or that you pass by on a walk than you know that something has to change.

Your dog’s health is the very first thing to investigate when exhibiting signs of aggression.  A visit to the vet will cross out a possible health problem.  A sick dog or a dog that’s experiencing discomfort is much more likely to show indications of aggression to protect it from harm.

After controlling out potential health problems, it’s time to start to train your dog.  It is important that you’re the dominant one in your relationship with the dog and that your dog looks to you for choices.  This takes much practice.  Many use treats or some type of other reward to teach the dog to focus on you and that behaving in a way that you expect is what brings positive beefing up.

A dog exhibiting dominance is a standard source of aggression towards other dogs.  Again, a good way to correct that difficulty is to coach your dog to target you for direction.  This should be done in a secure environment for the dog where she will feel comfortable.  In this training, you focus your dog to concentrate on you.  The dog follows your direction and is rewarded when your dog behaves properly.  When your dog concentrates on you, give it a reward.  Soon, you can try walking past another dog and use this method.  If your dog starts to show aggression, use your focus command and with enough training, your dog will focus on you, and not the other dog.
